الملخّص

Over the past few decades, the conventional and one-way electricity grid has undergone a remarkable evolution towards a smart and two-ways grid system. With the demand-responsive capability of smart grids, residential customers can use their devices on demand to obtain economic benefits in return, and increasing their satisfaction. In this context, this paper proposes an on-demand side load management technique to optimally control home appliances, such that user satisfaction is maximized with lowest cost, and the peak-to- average ratio is minimal. The main contributions of this article are: the integration of user satisfaction concept in the planning of home appliances then the use of a multi-objective optimization algorithm instead of traditional single-objective optimization. The input data required by the algorithm includes device types, device power, device usage period, electricity cost, as well as user satisfaction related to each electrical device used every hour of the day. The effectiveness of the proposed technique is proven by comparison between four scenarios. The results revealed that the proposed optimization algorithm was the best solution to achieve maximum benefits in terms of energy cost, peak-to-average ratio and user satisfaction.
